A fully loaded tourist minibus crashed in a mountain gorge at a Georgian resort.

Four people were killed and fifteen others were injured when a minibus plunged into a gorge near the Gomismta mountain resort in Georgia. The accident occurred on the evening of August 12 in the Guria region. Six children were among the injured.

The minibus was carrying 19 tourists from Belarus. According to the Georgian Ministry of Internal Affairs, the driver lost control, causing the vehicle to veer off the road and fall into the gorge. The driver, a Georgian citizen, survived without serious injuries.

Four of the injured were hospitalized in Ozurgeti and Chokhatauri, and eleven more were treated at the Batumi Republican Hospital. Two of the injured were taken to intensive care, but according to the chief physician, their lives are not in danger. Georgian law enforcement agencies have opened a criminal case into the accident. The culprit faces up to ten years in prison.

The minibus driver has been detained. The Belarusian Embassy in Georgia is providing consular assistance to the victims, and the Belarusian consul has responded to the scene.

Earlier, three people were killed in a traffic accident in the Syrdarya region involving a truck and a Chevrolet Captiva. The truck was making a U-turn when it was struck by a passenger car. The impact caused the truck to catch fire.
