A Bloggers' Council has been established under the Union of Journalists of Uzbekistan. It is headed by journalist and blogger Eldar Asanov. Its stated goals are to unite bloggers, protect their interests, provide legal assistance, and conduct training.
The Union of Journalists of Uzbekistan announced the launch of a Creative Council of Bloggers. This information was announced at an event held on August 7.
As noted by Shukhratjon Oripov, Chairman of the Union, in the modern world, bloggers, along with traditional media, play a key role in shaping public opinion and disseminating information quickly.
According to him, the main goal of the council is to unite bloggers, provide them with a platform for interaction with government and other organizations, and facilitate their professional growth.
The association will also protect bloggers' interests by providing consultations and legal assistance in situations involving difficulties in obtaining information, threats, or pressure.
Eldar Asanov, a well-known linguist, journalist, and blogger, was elected Chairman of the Council.
Seminars, trainings, and courses on media literacy, legal and ethical knowledge, and digital security training are planned for community members.
The Union of Journalists emphasized that this project is part of a strategy to "create responsible content in the media space, support the professional development of industry specialists, and create a platform for open and constructive dialogue."
