"815 new kindergartens opened in Uzbekistan in six months" - Deputy Prime Minister

Deputy Prime Minister Jamshid Kochkarov announced that 815 new kindergartens have been opened in Uzbekistan in six months, creating additional places for about 42,000 children. He made this statement on August 25, when reporting to deputies at a parliamentary meeting on the work carried out in the first half of 2026 within the framework of the "Uzbekistan-2030" strategy.

According to Kochkarov, who also holds the position of Minister of Economy and Finance, a total of 815 new state, public-private partnership and family non-state preschool educational organizations were established across the republic in the first half of the year. As a result, about 42,000 new places for children have appeared. In addition, the number of non-state general secondary schools has reached 786, with 181,000 students studying in them.

Jamshid Kuchkarov noted that special attention is paid to supporting women within the framework of the strategy. He said that more than 17 thousand women have been given letters of recommendation for admission to higher education institutions. In addition, 4,900 female students studying on a fee-based contract basis have been allocated interest-free educational loans in the amount of 64 billion soums. 11 thousand women studying for a master's degree have had their fee-based contracts in the amount of 75.5 billion soums covered.

The government representative also noted that 27 billion soums of material assistance have been provided to 12 thousand young people included in the "Youth Book" over the past six months.

Earlier, Jamshid Kuchkarov reported that more than 500 thousand people have been placed in permanent jobs over the past six months.
