13 killed, dozens injured in Tatarstan

On the morning of August 10, Ukrainian drones attacked the city of Nizhnekamsk. Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov said that 13 people were killed and 39 injured in the attack.

According to official sources, "industrial and civilian facilities were targeted," but no other details were disclosed. The republic has declared a state of mourning. Nizhnekamsk Mayor Radmir Belyaev noted that a young child was among the victims, adding that the drones "attacked not only industrial facilities, but also the residential sector."

The Ukrainian Telegram channels Supenova+ and Exilenova+ reported a fire at an oil refinery in Nizhnekamsk and posted a video showing smoke rising over the city.

According to Astra, the Nizhnekamskneftekhim enterprise, one of the largest petrochemical complexes in Europe, part of the Sibur holding, was attacked. This industrial zone also houses the Tatneft (AO TANEKO) oil refinery and the TAIF-NK oil refining complex. Oil facilities in Nizhnekamsk have previously been attacked by Ukrainian drones.

The Russian Defense Ministry reported that air defense forces shot down a total of 456 Ukrainian drones over 16 regions of Russia (including Tatarstan) and the annexed Crimea overnight.

Regional authorities also reported downed drones. Rostov Region Governor Yuri Slyusar reported that more than 70 drones had been intercepted. The head of the Kaluga Region, Vladislav Shapsha, reported that 16 drones had been shot down over the region. The reports did not provide information about damage or casualties.

Sergei Sobyanin announced that 18 drones flying towards Moscow had been neutralized.

In annexed Sevastopol, a fire broke out in the area of Inzhir beach "due to falling fragments". People at a beach campsite were evacuated.
