Former Real Madrid and Granada goalkeeper Luca Zidane will now play for Leganes. The 28-year-old Algerian international has signed a one-year contract with his new club, with the option to extend for another season.

The financial details of the transfer were not officially announced.

Zidane spent the last two seasons with Granada, a member of Spain's second division, Segunda. Leganes will also play in the same competition this season.

During this period, the goalkeeper has played 45 games in all competitions, keeping 15 clean sheets. Now he will begin a new phase of his career with Leganes.

Despite being a Real Madrid graduate, Luca Zidane has failed to establish himself in the first team of the "royal club".

The goalkeeper is the son of legendary French player and coach Zinedine Zidane. His father was recently appointed head coach of the French national team.

Luca himself chose to continue his international career with the Algerian national team. He participated in the 2026 World Cup as the starting goalkeeper for the Algerian national team.
