Flick shows Barcelona duo exit door

Barcelona coach Hansi Flick has left midfielder Marc Casado and winger Rooney Bardaghgi out of his squad for the three-way tournament with Udinese and Nottingham Forest.

Both players have reportedly been given three weeks to find new clubs before the transfer window closes. The decision was made to prevent injuries and to avoid jeopardising planned transfers.

Casado's departure is a necessity as Barcelona's midfield is overstretched. Rodri's imminent move from Manchester City is also a factor.

Saudi Arabia's Al-Hilal had previously offered around €40m for the Spaniard. However, the only options for Casado are now being considered for European competition.

Barcelona's winger position is fully formed. In addition to Lamine Yamal and Rafinha, the club also added Anthony Gordon and Jesse Bisiu to their squad this summer.

The young Swedish winger is therefore considered a surplus player by the coaching staff. Barcelona is planning to earn more than 15 million euros from his transfer.

The departures of Casado and Bardaji, as well as the transfers of Ferran Torres to PSG and Ronald Araujo to Liverpool, will allow Barcelona to register previously acquired Gordon, Bisiu and Karim Adeyemi in accordance with Financial Fair Play requirements.

Barcelona are also working hard to officially sign Rodri, Joao Cancelo, Julian Alvarez and defender Aymeric Laporte.
