Manchester City and Spain midfielder Rodri has chosen Barcelona, his agent Pablo Barquero has confirmed. Real Madrid have also been informed. According to El Larguero, the player did so out of respect for the Madrid club.

"Rodri informed them that he chose Barcelona out of respect for Real Madrid, who have been very professional during the negotiations," the agent said.

Cadena Ser also reported earlier that Rodri had agreed to Barcelona's offer. After that, journalist Sergio Valentin revealed all the details regarding the player's failed transfer to Real Madrid.

Rodri has been playing for Manchester City since 2019. He was transferred to the English club from Atletico Madrid for 70 million euros. The midfielder's current contract with the club runs until the summer of 2027.
