Diomande becomes the most expensive player in the history of "Real"

The transfer of striker Yann Diomande from the German club "Leipzig" to the team "Real" of Madrid became the most expensive purchase in the history of the Spanish grand.

The "Royal Club" paid 140 million euros for the Ivorian player, 15 million of this amount is in bonuses. The contract with the player is valid until 2033.

Earlier it was reported that the transfer fee was estimated at 125 million euros. After adding possible bonuses, it became known that the value of the transaction could reach 135 million euros, and if more complex conditions are met, it will be 140 million euros.

Thus, the transfer of Diomande surpassed the previous record purchases of "Real". In particular, it was more expensive than the transfers of Cristiano Ronaldo from Manchester United for €94 million, Gareth Bale from Tottenham for €101 million, Eden Hazard from Chelsea for €120 million and Jude Bellingham from Borussia Dortmund for €134 million.

Jan Diomande has been playing for Leipzig since 2025. He played 36 matches in the 2025/26 season, scoring 13 goals and providing 10 assists.

According to Transfermarkt, the 19-year-old is worth an estimated €90 million. He played four matches for the Ivory Coast at the 2026 World Cup, providing one assist.
