A total of 447 workplace accidents were recorded in Uzbekistan during the first six months of 2026, leaving 137 workers dead and hundreds more injured, according to the Labor Inspectorate..

In the first half of 2026, Uzbekistan experienced 447 workplace accidents, resulting in the deaths of 137 workers and leaving many others injured, as reported by the Labor Inspectorate.
The incidents took place from January to June, with 21 accidents involving groups of workers and 311 categorized as serious. Additionally, 113 of these accidents led to fatalities.
In total, 494 workers were impacted by workplace accidents during this period. Among them, 337 suffered serious injuries, 20 had minor injuries, and 137 lost their lives.
The Labor Inspectorate noted that victims and their families received compensation amounting to UZS 10.376 billion, distributed as lump-sum payments and monthly support.
The industrial sector had the highest incidence of workplace accidents, recording 144 cases, while the construction sector followed with 127 incidents.
Regionally, Tashkent had the most affected workers, with 95 cases reported.
