Women arrested in Andijan for trying to sell girls to Turkey for prostitution

In Andijan, women were arrested on suspicion of trying to send girls to Turkey for prostitution.

Two women were arrested in Andijan region while trying to send two girls to Turkey for prostitution. This was reported by the press service of the Andijan regional Department of Internal Affairs.

According to the report, as part of the operational-preventive event “Safe and Healthy Homeland”, the operative search service of the Andijan regional Department of Internal Affairs uncovered a crime related to human trafficking.

Two women born in 1998 and 1995 deceived girls born in 2002 and 1994, promising to cover their travel and other expenses. Their goal was to take the girls to Turkey and engage them in prostitution.

The suspects planned to take the victims to Turkey via Tashkent International Airport, but they were detained by operatives in the Shahrikhan district of Andijan region.

A criminal case has been initiated under Part 2 of Article 135 of the Criminal Code (human trafficking). Preliminary investigations are currently underway.

Earlier, a Turkish citizen who tried to send a woman from Kashkadarya into prostitution was sentenced to 3 years in prison. In another case, a person was detained in Namangan for sending women into prostitution in Dubai for $200.
