**Weather forecast for Uzbekistan for August 10-16: A transition from hot to cool is expected**

**Heat at the beginning of the week**

On August 10-12, hot and dry weather will remain in all areas of Uzbekistan, except for the mountainous regions. This is due to a synoptic process associated with a low-pressure, warm air mass over the country.

According to the foreign weather bureau "Meteoinfo.ru", this week may be slightly warmer than the same period last year. On weekdays, temperatures will be 2-5 degrees above the climatic norm throughout the republic.

According to Uzgidromet forecasts, on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, daytime temperatures will rise to +43 degrees in Surkhandarya, Kashkadarya, Bukhara, Navoi regions and Karakalpakstan. In Tashkent, Jizzakh, Syrdarya, Samarkand and Fergana Valley regions, it is expected to reach +40 degrees, and in the mountains - up to +32 degrees.

Night temperatures at the beginning of the week will be in the range of +23…+28 degrees in the desert, northern and southern regions, and +21…+26 degrees in other regions.

**Coolness in the second half of the week**

Starting from the second half of the week, the arrival of a relatively cool air mass with higher atmospheric pressure will lead to a decrease in temperatures. Starting from Thursday, coolness will begin to be felt in the northern regions.

On Thursday, the air temperature in the north will drop significantly, ranging from +33…+38 degrees, while in other regions the same warm weather as at the beginning of the week will remain. Only starting from Saturday, cooler air currents may slightly reduce the temperature in the regions of the republic.

Significantly cooler days are expected to be observed throughout the regions of the republic over the weekend. At the end of the working week and on weekends, nighttime temperature values in most parts of the republic may cool significantly, reaching +21 degrees or even slightly lower. In the mountains, nighttime temperature values will drop to +13 degrees.

According to ECMWF, on Thursday, August 13, in most parts of the republic, maximum temperatures will rise to +41…+43 degrees. At the same time, it is also described that those in the north may witness slightly cooler weather on this day compared to the beginning of the week.

**Precipitation and winds**

Short-term heavy showers are possible in some mountainous regions at the beginning of the week, but the week is expected to pass almost without precipitation in most parts of the republic. The ECMWF precipitation forecast map shows that there will be almost no rain in places during the week.

Strong winds are possible in the north almost every day during the week. Uzhydromet forecasters have drawn attention to strong winds in the northern regions at the beginning of the week and strong subcloudy winds in some mountain foothills in the second half of the day, followed by dust in some areas. The amount of invisible fine dust particles (PM2.5 and PM10) may increase in some areas.

**Bioclimatic conditions and health impacts**

According to Uzhydromet and ECMWF forecasts, this week the average air temperature in most parts of the republic is expected to be 3-6 degrees above normal, while the amount of precipitation is expected to be below normal or close to the values typical for this period in some regions.

Very hot weather is expected throughout the republic on weekdays, and slightly cooler weather is expected on weekends. This situation may increase the risk of significant loads on various sectors and fires in some places.

The hottest days for weekdays this week will be Wednesday and Thursday. On August 12 and 13, in some periods of the second half of the day, the highest levels of heat stress may form in Khorezm, Bukhara, Navoi, Kashkadarya, Surkhandarya regions and Karakalpakstan due to the combined effect of air temperature, wind speed and relative humidity.

According to the ECMWF bioclimatic conditions forecast map, high levels of heat stress may be recorded in some areas of Bukhara, Navoi, Kashkadarya and Surkhandarya regions by 14:00 on August 13.

Dry heat, rising to +41…+43 degrees, is not a simple meteorological discomfort for the body, but a physiological stress that puts a strain on the cardiovascular system, kidneys and water-electrolyte balance. The risk is especially high for the elderly, children, people working outdoors, people with cardiovascular, kidney, respiratory diseases and diabetes. In such conditions, it is important to drink fluids, limit physical activity during the hottest part of the day and protect the body from overheating.

It is better to avoid staying in the open sun for as long as possible between 12:00 and 16:00. The Ministry of Emergency Situations has issued a warning message, urging people not to move around in areas where the sun is directly overhead between 10:00 and 17:00.

During the summer heat wave, which is observed on Fridays and weekends in densely populated areas, and on Thursdays and Fridays in northern regions, it will be useful to follow the recommendations of the Ministry of Health to reduce the impact of heat on the body.

Nevertheless, the heat this week will not reach the level of intense heat observed in mid-July. Especially in areas where the air cools down at midnight and very high temperatures are observed during the day, "favorable" bioclimatic conditions are observed in the morning. By the weekend, the effects of heat stress may significantly weaken in most parts of the republic.

**Cosmic effects**

Last weekend, there was a significant calm in the sunspots. Many foreign geophysical centers, perhaps for this reason, did not foresee strong "red" or "yellow" magnetic storms at the beginning of the week.

The Almaty Ionosphere Center in Kazakhstan also provided similar forecasts, noting that magnetic storms with a green level of danger will occur mainly on weekdays.

It is currently impossible to give a reliable forecast for magnetic storms for more than 2-3 days. Therefore, it is advisable to rely on updated information for the coming days, rather than long-term forecasts.

It would not hurt to familiarize yourself with the recommendations prepared by the Sanitary and Epidemiological Committee for different age groups and patients on what to do in case of increased air pollution or pollution associated with fine particles.
