Uzbekistan's oldest museum has reopened after a major renovation.

The State History Museum of Uzbekistan, founded in 1876 and the oldest in the country, is once again welcoming visitors after a significant renovation. Its exhibits have been enhanced with interactive zones, digital technologies, and an innovative system for presenting historical materials. The renovated museum building has also been included in the list of Tashkent's modernist architectural landmarks on the UNESCO World Heritage List.

Over its nearly 150 years of existence, the museum has amassed a collection of 250,000 exhibits, and now boasts modern exhibition hall designs and a new visitor experience.

The renovation project was carried out by the Turkish company Outdoor Factory. Their specialists redesigned not only the exhibits but also visitor routes, educational spaces, and digital infrastructure.

The country's history is now presented chronologically. The exhibits utilize multimedia applications, interactive zones, and digital systems. The primary focus is on the exhibits themselves, with technology serving as a tool for more accessible presentation.

Toygar Yedigoz, Chairman of the Board of Outdoor Factory, noted that during the project, the specialists sought to combine the museum's historical heritage with modern formats.

"Instead of prioritizing digital technology, we created a narrative language that allows visitors to more vividly experience history," he emphasized.

According to Jannat Ismailova, Director of the State Historical Museum of Uzbekistan, after the renovation, the institution has become not only a storage and display space for exhibits, but also a modern cultural and educational space that meets current museum standards.

The museum's modernization coincided with UNESCO's decision to inscribe Tashkent's modernist architecture on the World Heritage List. The State Historical Museum is also listed among the significant sites of this historical and cultural complex.
