Kongratbay Sharipov, the Minister of Higher Education, Science and Innovation, announced that the government has sanctioned 36,023 state-funded scholarships for the upcoming academic year. The total number of admissions for full-time undergraduate programs is set to surpass 234,000.
The minister indicated that this year's admission campaign will focus on engineering, information technology, teacher education, and agricultural studies, aligning with the workforce demands of the country.
Over the past three years, admissions to full-time bachelor's programs have consistently increased. The intake was 127,995 students in 2024, which rose to 148,400 in 2025. For 2026, the number has been elevated to more than 234,000 spots.
