Uzbekistan Proposes Joint Industrial Cooperation Program to EAEU
Uzbekistan proposed creating a joint industrial cooperation program with EAEU member states during the Eurasian Intergovernmental Council meeting in Cholpon-Ata.
Uzbekistan has put forward a proposal to the member nations of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) for the creation of a collaborative industrial cooperation program. This initiative stems from agreements forged during the "Innoprom. Central Asia" international exhibition.
The proposition was made by Uzbek Prime Minister Abdulla Aripov during a session of the Eurasian Intergovernmental Council held in Cholpon-Ata, as reported by TASS.
Aripov stated that such a program would function as a tangible method to enhance industrial collaboration between Uzbekistan and the EAEU countries.
Uzbekistan recommended that the document detail potential joint projects, manufacturing locations, prospective partners, and specific funding avenues.
Additionally, Uzbekistan indicated its willingness to establish an in-country industrial cooperation office to facilitate direct communication with the Eurasian Economic Commission.
Abdulla Aripov highlighted that this initiative is a practical step towards realizing the proposals for expanded cooperation between Uzbekistan and the EAEU, which President Shavkat Mirziyoyev presented at the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council meeting in Kazakhstan in May.
The Eurasian Intergovernmental Council meeting is scheduled for August 6–7 in Cholpon-Ata.
Attendees include Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, Belarusian Prime Minister Aleksandr Turchin, Kazakh Prime Minister Olzhas Bektenov, alongside delegates from Iran and Cuba.
