Uzbekistan, Türkiye to Expand Tourism Cooperation

Uzbekistan and Türkiye are set to enhance their collaboration in the tourism industry. This was the focus of a meeting between Abdulaziz Akkulov, Chairman of Uzbekistan's Tourism Committee, and Ufuk Ulutaş, Türkiye's Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Uzbekistan, as reported by UzDaily.uz from Tashkent.

Discussions centered on boosting tourist traffic between the two nations, fostering greater cooperation among tour operators and airlines, and launching joint ventures in investment and marketing.

The development of the tourism workforce was also a key topic. Specific proposals included arranging professional training and exchange programs for Uzbek hospitality professionals in Istanbul and Antalya, alongside broadening educational and practical research partnerships with Cappadocia University.

The meeting concluded with an agreement to elevate bilateral cooperation. This will involve strengthening connections between tourism organizations, tour operators, airlines, educational institutions, and travel agencies. Plans also include organizing joint forums, business-to-business meetings, and executing investment projects.

Furthermore, Türkiye received an invitation to showcase a national pavilion at the Silk Road International Tourism Fair, scheduled to take place in Tashkent in November 2026.
