Uzbekistan's Minister of Foreign Affairs, Bakhtiyor Saidov, formally accepted the credentials from Portugal’s new Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Uzbekistan, Sara Martins.

During their meeting, discussions focused on the continued advancement of Uzbek-Portuguese relations, enhancing political dialogue, and broadening mutually beneficial cooperation.

Minister Saidov underscored the significance of the upcoming visit by an Uzbek delegation to Lisbon in April 2026. He highlighted this visit as crucial for further developing bilateral relations, intensifying political engagement, and identifying new areas for collaboration.

Particular attention was dedicated to the consistent implementation of agreements reached during the visit, strengthening economic diplomacy, and expanding interregional connections.

Saidov concluded by wishing Ambassador Martins success in her diplomatic endeavors in Uzbekistan.
