Uzbekistan and Qatar discuss strategic partnership
Uzbekistan Foreign Minister Bakhtiyor Saidov met with Qatar's Ambassador Hassan bin Hamza Hashim to discuss strategic partnership and bilateral cooperation.

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — On July 17, 2026, Uzbekistan's Minister of Foreign Affairs, Bakhtiyor Saidov, convened with Hassan bin Hamza Hashim, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the State of Qatar to Uzbekistan.
Their discussions centered on further solidifying the strategic partnership between Uzbekistan and Qatar, alongside ensuring the consistent execution of agreements previously established during high-level engagements.
The two officials explored opportunities for broadening collaboration across various sectors, including trade, economics, investment, transport, logistics, energy, tourism, culture, and humanitarian efforts.
Furthermore, participants in the meeting examined the upcoming schedule of bilateral events and addressed contemporary matters concerning their cooperation within international bodies.
Ambassador Hashim also communicated Qatar's gratitude for the recent visit by Uzbekistan's President, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, to Doha following the demise of the former Amir of Qatar, Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani, and for the personal condolences extended by President Mirziyoyev.
