Uzbekistan, Loong Air Discuss Expanding Flight Network

Uzbekistan's Tourism Committee Chairman, Abdulaziz Akkulov, held discussions with representatives from the Chinese carrier Loong Air regarding potential enhancements to air travel between the two nations and broader collaboration in tourism and civil aviation. The Tourism Committee released this information.

Loong Air currently facilitates air travel between Uzbekistan and China through its scheduled services on the Xi'an–Tashkent, Chengdu–Tashkent, and Xi'an–Samarkand routes, as stated by the committee.

During their meeting, both parties acknowledged China's significance as a primary international tourism market for Uzbekistan. The committee reported that over 278,900 Chinese nationals visited Uzbekistan in 2025, with Chinese tourist numbers reaching 223,500 between January and June 2026.

A key focus of the talks was the expansion of the flight network. Specifically, the participants explored increasing the frequency of Loong Air flights and cooperatively investigating the introduction of new direct routes connecting various cities in Uzbekistan and China.

Furthermore, the two sides exchanged ideas on collaborative marketing and promotional initiatives designed to further boost tourist traffic between Uzbekistan and China.
