Uzbekistan and Saudi Arabia to Expand Healthcare Partnership

Uzbekistan and Saudi Arabia are set to broaden their collaboration in the healthcare sector. This was the focus of a meeting held on July 28, 2026, in Tashkent, between Uzbekistan's Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy and Finance, Jamshid Kuchkarov, and a Saudi Arabian delegation headed by Minister of Health Fahd bin Abdurrahman Al-Jalajel.

Both sides acknowledged the consistent growth of their countries' diverse relationship, identifying healthcare as a particularly promising area for joint efforts.

Discussions centered on enhancing the efficiency and reach of current and prospective healthcare initiatives. Opportunities for cooperation in digitalizing the healthcare sector, implementing modern information technology, and deploying innovative solutions were also explored.

The meeting also covered public-private partnership projects and strategies to elevate the standard of medical services through optimal resource utilization and the adoption of international best practices.

Furthermore, participants exchanged ideas on the training of skilled medical professionals and the continuous professional development of healthcare specialists.

The dialogue extended to attracting Saudi Arabian investment, technology, and management expertise, fostering direct engagement between private sector entities from both nations, and collaboratively developing new projects.

Concluding the discussions, both parties affirmed their commitment to expanding mutually beneficial cooperation, strengthening connections between relevant organizations and experts, and jointly developing future projects.
