Uzbekistan and Saudi Arabia Explore Pharmaceutical Collaborations

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) – Abdulla Azizov, Director of Uzbekistan's Agency for Development of the Medical and Pharmaceutical Industry, engaged in discussions with delegates from Saudi firms The Health Holding Company (HHC) and The National Unified Procurement Company (NUPCO). These representatives were part of an official Saudi Arabian delegation.

The discussions centered on several key areas: modernizing Uzbekistan's medical and pharmaceutical industries, advancing projects within the BioPharma City pharmaceutical cluster, enhancing the investment environment, and establishing advanced manufacturing facilities with international involvement.

Additionally, the meeting addressed streamlining pharmaceutical production and supply chains, implementing contemporary strategies for public procurement, facilitating technology transfers, developing logistics, attracting investment, and exploring potential joint ventures.

The Health Holding Company is a Saudi state-owned enterprise dedicated to reforming the kingdom's national healthcare system as part of its Vision 2030 initiative.

The National Unified Procurement Company operates as a state entity focused on the centralized procurement and consistent provision of pharmaceuticals, medical equipment, and healthcare technologies.
