Uzbekistan and China Explore Advanced Construction Technologies

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — Tohir Alimatov, the Deputy Minister of Construction and Housing and Communal Services of Uzbekistan, met with a Chinese delegation to explore the adoption of contemporary construction technologies aimed at enhancing the energy efficiency and seismic resilience of buildings.

The Chinese representatives showcased cutting-edge construction materials and engineering innovations intended to boost the safety and energy performance of structures. They highlighted lightweight, non-combustible thermal insulation boards for exterior walls, thermal insulation coatings, inter-floor sound insulation systems, and energy-efficient materials for industrial pipelines.

A significant focus of the discussion was on technologies designed to safeguard buildings from earthquakes. The Chinese delegation introduced buckling-restrained brace (BRB) seismic ties, which help alleviate the stress on load-bearing structures during seismic activities, as well as fluid viscous (FV) and fluid viscous wall (FVW) dampers that are engineered to absorb seismic energy.

Throughout the meeting, both parties shared insights on the implementation of these technologies in China. They also deliberated on design aspects, practical applications, testing protocols, existing regulatory standards, and the operation of earthquake monitoring systems.

At the conclusion of the discussions, the participants assessed the potential for integrating energy-efficient construction materials and advanced seismic protection technologies within Uzbekistan's construction sector, ensuring alignment with national technical standards, and exploring avenues for further enhancing bilateral collaboration in this area.
