Uzbekistan and Asseco Explore Digitalization Initiatives

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — Oleg Pekos, the First Deputy Minister of Digital Technologies of Uzbekistan, met with Marian Przeździecki, the Chargé d'Affaires of Poland in Uzbekistan, and Przemyslaw Senczkowski, the Vice President of Asseco International. The discussion focused on potential collaboration in digital transformation and the execution of significant IT projects, as reported by the Ministry of Digital Technologies.

The meeting covered various avenues for partnership in areas such as e-government, financial technologies, artificial intelligence, data processing centers, and the rollout of state and corporate digital initiatives.

Polish representatives were informed about the ongoing reforms in Uzbekistan aimed at enhancing the digital economy, the increase in IT service exports, the favorable conditions established for IT Park residents, support mechanisms for foreign enterprises, and key investment projects designed to advance digital infrastructure.

A significant emphasis was placed on the advancement of artificial intelligence. Participants were updated on specific incentives for AI and data center initiatives in Karakalpakstan, the establishment of AI laboratories initiated by the President, and the training programs for highly skilled IT professionals.

The discussion also included the deployment of Asseco International's solutions in Uzbekistan across public administration, the banking sector, healthcare, and other fields, along with the execution of collaborative projects, training of local specialists, and knowledge exchange.

At the conclusion of the meeting, the parties agreed to maintain dialogue on fostering practical cooperation, explore the potential for Asseco International to establish operations in Uzbekistan, and work together on mutually advantageous projects.

During their visit, the delegation also learned about the activities of UZINFOCOM and its initiatives in digital governance, state information systems, data processing centers, cloud technologies, cybersecurity, and artificial intelligence.
