Uzbek Wrestlers Win Four Medals at U17 World Championships
Uzbekistan's freestyle wrestling team claimed two silver and two bronze medals at the U17 World Championships in Baku, with three more wrestlers still competing for bronze.
Uzbekistan's freestyle wrestling contingent secured a total of four medals at the U17 World Championships, currently underway in Baku, Azerbaijan.
On the most recent day of events, Uzbek wrestlers earned two silver and two bronze medals. Jakhongir Tulkunov clinched a silver medal in the 55 kg weight class, and Shohiddin Aliyev also earned silver in the 65 kg division. The bronze medals for the team were secured by Farrukh Makhmudov in the 48 kg category and Bekhruz Ashirov in the 110 kg division.
Looking ahead to the championship's concluding day, three additional Uzbek wrestlers are slated to compete for bronze medals. Muhammad Rakhimjonov will vie for bronze in the 45 kg category against the victor of the match between Kyrgyzstan's Abdunazar Batyrkanov and Georgia's Lasha Dotiashvili. In the 60 kg division, Bekzodbek Ibrohimov will face the winner of the bout between Poland's Witold Pawlik and Ukraine's Mikita Kuzmenko for a bronze medal. Lastly, in the 71 kg category, Jaloliddin Jalolov will compete against the winner of the contest featuring Kemryn Howard from the United States and Adilet Rysbay from Kazakhstan.
