Uzbek, Kyrgyz Transport Ministers inspect progress on China–Kyrgyzstan–Uzbekistan railway project

Transport Ministers from Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan, Ilkhom Makhkamov and Talantbek Soltobayev respectively, conducted an inspection of the China–Kyrgyzstan–Uzbekistan railway project on July 28–29. The ministers visited significant construction locations within the Kyrgyz portion of the future railway line to assess the project's advancement.

As reported by the Kabar news agency, the officials examined the ongoing construction of tunnels, bridges, and other essential infrastructure. Their conversations centered on expediting work timelines and defining subsequent development stages.

Both ministers also discussed implementing stringent quality control protocols to guarantee the safe and timely completion of this large-scale undertaking.

The agency highlighted the critical strategic importance of the China–Kyrgyzstan–Uzbekistan railway project. Upon its completion, the railway is expected to substantially enhance regional connectivity, increase trade transit capabilities, and create a significant new international transportation route connecting Asia and Europe.
