Inspectors discovered unauthorized remodeling in an apartment building in the Davlatabad district of the Namangan region. The owner of a first-floor apartment cut a passage to the basement without the necessary permits and began constructing a staircase.

The violation was discovered during an inspection of the technical condition of apartment buildings conducted by the territorial inspectorate for construction, housing, and utilities.

Inspectors found that the owner had altered the building's load-bearing structures without proper design documentation. For this, he was fined and ordered to restore the structures to their original condition within a specified timeframe.

The inspectorate emphasized that unauthorized modifications to the load-bearing elements of apartment buildings can reduce their seismic resistance and pose a safety risk to all residents.

Inspections in the region are ongoing.

As a reminder, in Uzbekistan, the redevelopment of apartments in multi-apartment buildings that are more than 50 years old is prohibited.
