Seven women have each received a five-day jail sentence after their involvement in a public brawl in Andijan.
According to local authorities, the "102" emergency hotline received a report on July 30 about a group of women fighting in the courtyard of an apartment complex. Responding officers found the women yelling and causing a disturbance.
Even after being taken to the police station, the women continued their dispute, using offensive language and refusing to cooperate with officers' lawful instructions.
An initial inquiry revealed that the physical fight stemmed from an escalating exchange of insults on Instagram.
The case was then sent to the Andijan City Criminal Court. After reviewing the evidence, the court convicted all seven women of public order offenses and handed down a five-day administrative arrest to each.
