Safayev, U.S. Official Discuss Bilateral Cooperation

Sodiq Safoyev, the First Deputy Chairman of the Senate of Uzbekistan's Oliy Majlis, held a meeting with Sameer Paul Kapur, the U.S. Assistant Secretary of State for South and Central Asian Affairs. The discussion centered on the present status and future outlook of the relationship between Uzbekistan and the United States, as confirmed by the press service of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis of Uzbekistan.
During their talks, both parties shared perspectives on their bilateral cooperation.
They acknowledged that the partnership between the two nations has advanced significantly in recent years. Both emphasized the necessity of fully leveraging their existing capabilities to broaden mutually beneficial cooperation even further.
Sameer Paul Kapur commended Uzbekistan's extensive economic reforms and its strategy focused on fostering good-neighborly ties, mutual trust, and regional collaboration within Central Asia.
Safoyev also provided the U.S. delegation with an overview of the Oliy Majlis's operations, highlighting parliament's contribution to the nation's governmental and societal progress, and its legislative initiatives supporting Uzbekistan's ongoing reforms.
