Presidents of Uzbekistan, United States hold phone call
President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev and US president Donald Trump discussed the development of the strategic partnership between the two countries, economic cooperation and international issues during a phone call. Mirziyoyev also invited Trump to pay an official visit to Tashkent.

Uzbekistan's President Shavkat Mirziyoyev and U.S. President Donald Trump engaged in a telephone conversation on August 7, as confirmed by the presidential press service.
The call commenced with President Mirziyoyev extending renewed congratulations to President Trump on the occasion of the 250th anniversary of U.S. independence.
According to the statement, "President Trump, in turn, noted that Uzbek-American relations had reached an unprecedented level and that a close and trusting dialogue had been established between the leaders of the two countries."
Both presidents acknowledged the consistent progress in implementing prior agreements and explored avenues for further solidifying the strategic partnership between Uzbekistan and the United States. They also commended the robust pace of bilateral interactions and exchanges, which now encompass nearly all spheres of collaboration.
The discussion also encompassed the three-year Economic Cooperation Program, preparations for the inaugural session of the US-Uzbekistan Business and Investment Council, and initiatives to broaden connections between Uzbekistan's regions and U.S. states.
The statement further indicated that the introduction of visa-free travel for U.S. citizens has contributed to the expansion of business relationships. Collaborative projects are currently underway in various sectors, including civil aviation, automotive manufacturing, mining, infrastructure, energy, metallurgy, artificial intelligence, and digital technologies.
Additionally, the presidents addressed international matters, emphasizing the significance of ongoing endeavors to bolster global security and achieve peaceful resolutions for international and regional disputes.
The call concluded with President Mirziyoyev extending an invitation to President Trump for an official visit to Uzbekistan at a mutually suitable time.
