In July, about 600 Uzbeks were repatriated from Russia.

The Moscow office of the Migration Agency provided legal and practical assistance to 860 citizens working in Russia in July of this year. This was reported by the Migration Agency's press service.

According to the data, last month, 64 Uzbeks were reimbursed withheld wages in the amount of 4 million rubles. In addition, 53 people were issued certificates of return to their homeland, and 31 citizens had their documents confiscated by their employers returned.

In addition, 774 citizens were provided with social support. Of these, 597 (110 women and 228 minor children) were returned to Uzbekistan, and 91 were allocated one-time financial assistance. 83 citizens who lost their shelter were accommodated in a free hostel for a month, and 3 people with acute illnesses received partial reimbursement of their medical expenses.

It was added that 220 unemployed Uzbeks were placed in jobs at 7 enterprises.

The mission urged citizens who have encountered non-payment of wages, problems with documents, or disputes with their employers in Russia to contact official numbers or the mission building.

Earlier, it was reported that in the first half of 2026, the number of citizens of Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, and Kyrgyzstan who went to Russia for work decreased by 15% compared to the same period last year. This is also affected by the war in Ukraine. Since the beginning of the war, there have been several cases of migrants being recruited to fight in the Russian army.
