Nearly 30,000 head of cattle: The Altai Republic is increasing its supply of breeding cattle to Uzbekistan.

The Altai Republic is becoming an increasingly important supplier of breeding cattle for Uzbekistan. From the beginning of 2025 to the first months of 2026, approximately 30,000 head of cattle were shipped to Uzbekistan, demonstrating growing interest in high-yielding breeds for the development of livestock farming in the country.

Currently, six enterprises in the Altai Republic have permits to export cattle. The total cattle population in the region exceeds 196,000 head, creating opportunities for increasing exports to the international market.

Cooperation between the parties intensified following the formation in May 2025 of a joint working group including representatives of the Consulate General of Uzbekistan in Novosibirsk and the Ministry of Agriculture of the Altai Republic. The main objectives of this partnership are to expand breeding cattle exports and share knowledge in livestock farming.

In addition to cattle, there has been an increase in the supply of Mountain Altai goats. Kayral continues its collaboration with the Uzbek company Naslchilik: in 2025, 2,300 goats were delivered to the Kashkadarya region, significantly exceeding the previous year's figure of 930.

Uzbekistan also imports Simmental and Hereford breeding animals, which are valued for their high meat and milk production. Increased imports of breeding stock contribute to the modernization of the livestock industry, improving the efficiency of local farms, and strengthening food security in Uzbekistan.
