Mirziyoyev Briefed on Uzbekneftegaz H1 2026 Results

Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev has received an update on Uzbekneftegaz JSC's performance for the first half of 2026, along with its key objectives for the remainder of the year.

The report highlighted that the company produced 11.5 billion cubic meters of natural gas during the six-month period. Production figures for crude oil, diesel fuel, aviation kerosene, and liquefied gas all surpassed their projected targets.

Uzbekneftegaz aims to produce 1.1 million metric tons of gasoline, 983,000 tons of diesel fuel, 310,000 tons of aviation kerosene, 606,000 tons of liquefied gas, and approximately 1.18 million tons of synthetic products by year-end.

A significant focus was placed on ensuring the domestic supply of aviation kerosene. With increased air traffic across Central Asia, demand for this fuel is anticipated to reach 375,000 tons between July and December, marking a 27 percent rise compared to the same period last year. Domestic oil refineries are expected to meet most of this demand. Furthermore, due to export restrictions on petroleum products in several partner countries, aviation kerosene imports have been secured from alternative sources, including Georgia, Iraq, and other nations.

Plans for modernizing Uzbekgeofizika JSC were also presented to the President. An allocation of US$38.8 million has been made to upgrade equipment for well geophysical surveys and acquire a state-of-the-art 3D seismic exploration complex.

Additionally, progress was reported on a collaborative project with the US company Schlumberger to establish a seismic data processing center. This center will feature a modern supercomputer system, new software implementation, and expanded use of artificial intelligence in seismic surveys.

These projects are projected to increase annual 3D seismic survey coverage from 1,800 to 5,000 square kilometers, extend survey depth from 4,500 to 8,000 meters, and raise the number of identified prospective geological structures from 19 to 30.

During the meeting, discussions also covered the adoption of high-temperature and high-pressure resistant materials in well construction, ultrasonic logging technologies, real-time geophysical monitoring, and horizontal drilling to boost field development efficiency.

Following the report, Shavkat Mirziyoyev directed officials to implement measures guaranteeing a consistent and uninterrupted supply of petroleum products to the public and various economic sectors. He also called for technological upgrades at industry enterprises, improved energy efficiency, reduced production costs, and stringent oversight of planned initiatives.
