An emergency situation occurred on a passenger plane flying from Malaysia to India: a man on board tried to open the plane's emergency exit door at an altitude of 9,000 meters. This was reported by The Sun.

The incident was committed by a 36-year-old man named Jamshir Atanikal. Footage of his attempt to open the emergency hatch was widely shared on social media.

The video shows Batik Air employees trying to stop the man in front of confused passengers. Jamshir also threatened those around him while trying to open the hatch. In the end, the crew members and other passengers managed to neutralize him and tie his hands.

According to the Kochi airport police, the incident occurred between 9:30 PM and 11:00 PM. The police report states:

"Jamshir was sitting in seat 12A. He tried to open the emergency exit door for no reason, damaging the window panel. He also threatened passengers and crew who tried to stop him."

When questioned by police, Jamshir explained his actions by saying that he "wanted to do it at that moment." He also said that he "wanted to die during the flight." At the same time, it was revealed that the man was flying home to see his newborn child.

After the plane landed at the airport, Jamshir was arrested. He was charged with attempted murder because his actions directly endangered the lives of those on board. The flight crew has returned to Malaysia and is expected to give evidence.

Earlier, a man was arrested after threatening to detonate a bomb at George Bush Intercontinental Airport in the United States, and a 97-year-old blind British woman set a record by flying on the wing of an airplane.
