Uzbek grandmaster Javohir Sindorov spoke about his opponent and his preparation for the match ahead of his upcoming match with the reigning world chess champion, India's Gukesh Dommaraju.

The Candidates Tournament winner noted that Gukesh is playing very well at the moment, but said that his game also has its own shortcomings.

"I think that sometimes Gukesh loses his composure even in situations where he has an advantage or even a win. I don't know why, but if you watch his games, you can see that he is playing really well. However, I don't want to dwell on his mistakes. I know from our mutual games that Gukesh is a very strong chess player. Therefore, I am preparing properly and I believe that he will come to the World Championship matches in top form," said Sindorov.

For your information, the matches for the World Championship will be held in Geneva, Switzerland, from November 25 to December 15 of this year. The prize fund of the tournament is $2.5 million, and the total budget of the event is $8.5 million. According to the regulations, a total of 14 games will be played to determine the winner, and the chess players are required to score 7.5 points to win the championship. If one of the sides reaches this result before the scheduled games, the match will end early. If the main games end in a draw with the score 7:7, the champion will be determined in a tie-break.
