Iran demands compensation from US for opening Strait of Hormuz

Iran is demanding compensation from the United States in exchange for opening the Strait of Hormuz.

Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi said that Iran is close to an agreement with Oman on the Strait of Hormuz. But he stressed that this does not mean the restoration of shipping traffic.

The Iranian Foreign Minister added that the opening of the Strait of Hormuz depends on other conditions, including compensation for the violation of the peace agreement by the United States.

According to him, Iran and Oman continue to discuss the details of the temporary restoration of shipping traffic through the Strait of Hormuz.

The two countries are currently negotiating the entry of commercial ships through Iranian waters and the exit through Omani waters. According to the Iranian Foreign Ministry, this plan is intended for two to three months and can be extended if necessary.
