FIFA President Gianni Infantino is accused of paying a large sum of money to a woman with whom he had an affair. Therefore, the Union of European Football Associations (UEFA) is expected to launch an official investigation into him. This was reported by The Telegraph.
According to the report, the investigation was based on payments made to Infantino. According to the publication, while he was working as UEFA general secretary, Infantino paid hundreds of thousands of euros in compensation from the organization to an employee with whom he had an affair. According to the source, the upcoming investigation will cover the entire 16-year work of the functionary at UEFA (from 2000 to 2016).
For information, Gianni Infantino served as UEFA general secretary from 2009 to 2016. After that, he was elected as the head of FIFA and later retained this position for two more terms without alternative candidates. It is noteworthy that the 56-year-old specialist has been legally married since 2001 and has four children.
