Ferghana Region Forges Stronger Business Ties with Afghan Firms
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) – The Ferghana Region is broadening its collaborative efforts with Afghan enterprises, a development that follows a recent meeting between Khokim Khayrullo Bozorov and executives from prominent Afghan companies.
Bozorov engaged with Abdul Hamidi Anyuri, Director of Emerald Diamond Trading; Atilla Azimi, Director of Kam Air; Abdul Latif Navruzi, Director of Tojmahal Petroleum; and their business associates within the Ferghana Region. Their discussions centered on potential joint investment ventures and the further enhancement of trade and economic relationships, as reported by the Ferghana Region Khokimiyat.
These discussions served as a continuation of understandings established during a visit by a Ferghana Region delegation, led by the khokim, to Afghanistan on July 26–27. That prior visit encompassed official negotiations and business engagements, resulting in agreements spanning multiple sectors, alongside the inauguration of Ferghana Region trade centers in Kabul and Mazar-i-Sharif.
In the most recent gathering, attendees evaluated concrete actions to implement the previously made agreements, initiate new investment projects, and reinforce the economic bond between the two sides.
Participants observed that the relationship between Uzbekistan and Afghanistan has significantly advanced in recent years, with a particular focus on cultivating mutual trust and economic collaboration.
Representatives from the Afghan business community commended the industrial and entrepreneurial capabilities of the Ferghana Region. They conveyed their eagerness to expand cooperation in areas such as trade, agriculture, aviation, energy, and logistics. New collaborative proposals were also introduced during the meeting.
Bozorov reiterated the Ferghana Region's commitment to fully support the execution of joint projects.
Subsequent to the talks, both parties reached an accord to expedite the realization of investment initiatives, boost the volume of bilateral trade, and consistently advance their cooperation.
