Ferghana Region and Tochigi Prefecture Explore Partnership Opportunities

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) – According to the Dunyo News Agency, discussions regarding potential collaboration between Uzbekistan's Ferghana Region and Japan's Tochigi Prefecture recently took place. Uzbekistan's Ambassador to Japan, Mukhsinkhuja Abdurakhmonov, met with Shigeyoshi Masubuchi, Senior Director of a Tochigi Prefectural Government department, and Fumihiko Kato, former Japanese Ambassador to Uzbekistan, to deliberate on the development of this cooperation.

The Japanese representatives conveyed their interest in fostering a mutually beneficial partnership with Ferghana Region, highlighting its substantial population of 4.2 million and robust socioeconomic growth.

A key focus of the meeting was to pinpoint priority sectors for interaction between Ferghana Region and Tochigi Prefecture.

Furthermore, both sides exchanged perspectives on initiating new joint ventures in areas such as workforce development, Japanese language education, and strengthening ties between higher education institutions. Cooperation in agriculture, general education, and labor migration were also discussed.
