Electricity Generation in Uzbekistan Increases by 5.7%

Total electricity generation in Uzbekistan reached 44,140.8 million kWh in the first half of 2026, a 5.7% increase year-on-year.

Uzbekistan's Electricity Output Rises 5.7%

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) – Uzbekistan generated 44,140.8 million kWh of electricity between January and June 2026, marking a 5.7% increase from the 41,747.1 million kWh produced in the corresponding period last year, as reported by the National Committee of the Republic of Uzbekistan on Statistics.

A significant change was observed in the production landscape. Large enterprises saw their output decrease by 4.6%, generating 29,832.8 million kWh compared to 31,282.2 million kWh in the previous year. In contrast, small businesses substantially boosted their electricity production by 36.8%, reaching 14,308.0 million kWh, up from 10,464.9 million kWh. This trend highlights the expanding contribution of small enterprises to the nation's energy sector.

Furthermore, large enterprises experienced an 18.1% reduction in thermal energy production during January–June 2026, producing 9,284.7 thousand Gcal compared to 11,338.0 thousand Gcal in the same period last year.
