Edelweiss Resort & SPA Opens in Samarkand Region
The Edelweiss Resort & SPA has opened in Mironkul, Samarkand Region, featuring a 160-bed hotel, SPA facilities, and recreation areas across 40 hectares.
Edelweiss Resort & SPA has commenced operations in Uzbekistan's Samarkand District. Situated in Mironkul village, the new tourist complex was inaugurated in anticipation of Uzbekistan's 35th anniversary of independence.
Spanning 40 hectares, the complex features a 160-bed hotel offering various room types, indoor and outdoor swimming pools, a SPA and wellness center, medical and preventive treatment facilities, and dedicated walking paths. Project organizers indicate the complex can host up to 500 guests daily.
The launch of Edelweiss Resort & SPA has generated 150 permanent employment opportunities.
Infrastructure enhancements supporting the project included paving a four-kilometer access road to the site and constructing a new bridge. Additionally, over 50,000 ornamental trees and shrubs were planted throughout the grounds. A 15-kilometer water pipeline was installed from a natural spring, along with a drip irrigation system, to facilitate irrigation.
The opening ceremony saw attendance from regional and district administration officials, representatives from the tourism industry, and members of the public. Attendees highlighted that such initiatives bolster the region's tourism infrastructure, expand the service sector, create jobs, and stimulate economic development.
