EAEU countries will launch a system to track trade in household appliances.

The countries of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) are preparing to launch a new traceability system for certain goods, which will become operational on September 1, 2026. The initiative aims to reduce the volume of illegal imports and increase market transparency.

Bakytzhan Sagintayev, Chairman of the Board of the Eurasian Economic Commission, reported on the progress of the system's development at a meeting of the EAEU, noting that work is currently underway to expand the list of goods subject to mandatory control.

The new mechanism will allow for the tracking of goods throughout their entire journey, from import to final sale. This is expected to increase the transparency of trade flows and ensure more complete tax revenues for the budgets of the member states.

Initially, the system will cover household appliances, including refrigerators, freezers, washing machines, and televisions. The list of products may be expanded in the future.

The EEC emphasizes that this system will benefit both the state and businesses. Businesses will receive additional protection from unfair competition, and consumers will receive a guarantee of the legality of imported goods.

As a reminder, the Eurasian Economic Union includes Russia, Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, and Kyrgyzstan. Observer countries, including Uzbekistan, Iran, and Cuba, also participate in the extended meetings of the Intergovernmental Council.

Earlier, Uzbekistan proposed developing a joint industrial cooperation program for EAEU countries and also put forward a number of new initiatives in areas such as digitalization, energy, employment, and tourism.
