Banking Supervision Committee fines 21 banks in June
The Banking Supervision Committee of the Central Bank of Uzbekistan fined 21 banks, one microfinance organization, and one payment organization in June 2026.
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — The Banking Supervision Committee of the Central Bank of Uzbekistan convened seven meetings in June 2026, during which it deliberated on 34 distinct issues and subsequently adopted appropriate resolutions.
The majority of the committee's work, encompassing 22 items, pertained to registration and licensing activities. This included registering amendments to the charters of six credit organizations, considering the issuance of three qualification certificates to auditors for conducting bank audits, and processing four applications for the registration of microfinance organizations and the licensing of payment organizations. Additionally, the committee reviewed five approvals for acquiring shares in the authorized capital of credit organizations and confirmed four candidates for positions on supervisory boards, management boards of commercial banks, and other key roles.
