A student opened fire at a school in Thailand, killing several teachers and students.

A tragic shooting occurred at a school in Thailand: a student opened fire, killing several teachers and students.

Seven people were killed and 15 injured in the incident that occurred on August 7 at Debsirin School in Nonthaburi Province. According to preliminary reports, a ninth-grade student opened fire.

Police later found the body of the suspected shooter in a classroom. He is presumed to have committed suicide with a gunshot wound. Law enforcement urged the public to avoid the area.

Debsirin School, founded in 1885 by King Chulalongkorn of Thailand, is a prestigious educational institution. Its alumni include prominent public figures, including diplomats, athletes, and several prime ministers. In the 2025 academic year, the school had approximately 3,100 students and 147 teachers.

This is not the first attack on a school in Thailand. In February, a gunman opened fire at a school in Hat Yai district, killing one teacher and wounding one student.
