A teacher was killed and four others were injured in a shooting at a school in Thailand, Reuters reported.

The incident occurred on August 7 at Debsirin School in Nonthaburi province. The shooter was a 9th grader, usually 14 years old. After the attack, he committed suicide. Police urged citizens to stay away from the scene. According to local media, more than 20 people were injured.

Debsirin School was founded in 1885 by Thailand's King Chulalongkorn. Many famous people, including diplomats, athletes and several prime ministers, graduated from this educational institution. In the 2025 academic year, the school had about 3,100 students and 147 teachers.

This is one of the latest gun attacks on schools in Thailand. In February, a gunman opened fire at a school in Hat Yai district, killing a teacher and wounding a student.
