Young chess player from Uzbekistan becomes Asian School Champion

Seven-year-old chess player from Uzbekistan Mukhammadyusuf Bakhromov has won the gold medal at the Asian School Chess Championship. In his age category, he scored 8 points out of a possible 9.

In the decisive ninth round, Mukhammadyusuf defeated Vladimir Karaev and, with 8 points, became the Asian Champion among boys in his age category.

The 20th Asian School Chess Championship is taking place from October 1 to 11 in the Tula Oblast. More than 300 young chess players aged 7 to 17 from 13 countries, including Uzbekistan, India, China, Iran, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Tajikistan, and Sri Lanka, are participating in the competition.

Earlier, young chess player Khusnorakhon Khusnitdinova from Uzbekistan made history in Uzbek chess by receiving the prestigious FIDE title of Woman FIDE Master (WFM).
