Yandex Maps has launched detailed road maps in three cities of Uzbekistan for the first time
Now, in the Yandex Maps and Yandex Navigator applications, a detailed map of the road with traffic lanes, markings, exits, and safety islands will be displayed during trips in Tashkent, Andijan, and Namangan.

Yandex Maps has launched detailed road maps in three cities of Uzbekistan — Tashkent, Andijan, and Namangan — for the first time. Now, during a trip, the service displays an exact scheme of the road, showing lane markings, turns, exits, and safety zones. This will help drivers choose the necessary lane in advance, change lanes in a timely manner, and navigate complex roads more confidently.
The new format currently works on all roads in Tashkent, and in the central areas and main highways of Andijan and Namangan. To create the detailed maps, the Yandex Maps team digitized 2,760 kilometers of roads in the three cities.
During travel, Yandex Maps displays the recommended trajectory of movement, taking lanes into account. This allows the driver to position themselves in the correct lane well before a turn or exit. The map also displays 3D views of buildings located along the route. These can serve as additional landmarks, including in cases of GPS signal disruptions.
"Tashkent and other cities of Uzbekistan are changing rapidly: road infrastructure is developing, new roads, bridges, tunnels, overpasses, and complex transport interchanges are appearing. Navigation must also adapt to these changes. Uzbekistan has become the first country in Central Asia where such a level of precise road depiction on Yandex Maps has been introduced in three cities simultaneously. In the future, such maps will also appear in other cities of the country," said Izzat Shukurov, head of Yandex Uzbekistan.
To create the precise maps, Yandex Maps cartographers used several data sources, including satellite imagery, panoramas, and photographs of the area. Panorama reprojection technology helps to transfer road markings onto the map even more accurately.
The updated maps are available in the "Navigator" section of the Yandex Maps application, as well as in the separate Yandex Navigator application. To view roads in a three-dimensional format, the 3D mode must be enabled in the settings: "Navigation" — "3D mode".
The map with detailed road markings is also available when connected to CarPlay or Android Auto.
