Woman dies in South Korea after having 11 dental implants

A 75-year-old woman died in South Korea after undergoing 11 dental implant surgeries in one day, according to Oxu.az.

The tragic incident in Seoul was caused by an overdose of an anesthetic. According to clinic documents, the woman was given 1,088 milligrams of anesthesia during the operation. However, the maximum recommended dose for a 54-kilogram patient is about 378 milligrams. This means that the woman was given almost three times the prescribed amount of medication.

Initially, the clinic offered the woman all 11 implants at once, at a much lower price than usual. Before this tragedy, the Korean Dental Association warned about the dangers of clinics that lure patients with suspiciously low prices.

Police are currently investigating the information about the dose of the drug administered and what measures the medical staff took after the patient's condition deteriorated.
