Winners of the Nobel Prize in Economics Announced

The names of the winners of the Nobel Prize in Economics have been announced in Stockholm.

The award went to American scientists Robert Hall and Michael Woodford. They were recognized for their research in the field of macroeconomic stabilization. In particular, the scientists created models that allow for more effective use of fiscal and credit instruments to smooth economic shocks.

As a reminder, the Nobel Prize in Economics has been awarded since 1969 on the initiative of the Central Bank of Sweden. Last year, it was awarded to three scientists from the US, France, and Canada.
