What is happening in Yemen? The Houthis have made a serious statement

Houthi movement spokesperson Yahya Saree stated that "Ansar Allah" militants have taken control of six districts with a total area of 5,400 square kilometers in Yemen's Taiz and Al-Hudaydah provinces.

"A multi-faceted military operation is being carried out with the aim of expelling Saudi Arabian forces from the western coastal regions," Yahya Saree said on the Al-Masirah TV channel.

Yemen's western coast is of strategic importance due to its access to the Bab al-Mandab Strait.

It connects the Red Sea with the Gulf of Aden and is considered the southern gateway to the Suez Canal. This is the shortest sea route for transporting cargo from Asia to Europe.
