US Vice President JD Vance stated that he does not want his country's Middle East policy to be subservient to Israel. He also did not rule out the possibility of President Donald Trump being ready to break ties with Israel.

Vance said that for the US, Israel is an important partner in military technology and intelligence sharing. However, there have also been instances where the two countries could not agree.

“I think he (Trump) has shown, more than any president in the last 40 years, a willingness to go a separate way with Bibi Netanyahu when he feels the interests of the American people diverge from the interests of the Israeli government... “There are many important ties and partnerships with NATO, but that does not mean we make our European foreign policy completely subservient to NATO, just as we cannot allow our foreign policy in the Middle East to be subservient to the State of Israel,” Vance said.

“We work with people when we need to, and we disagree when we disagree. We pursue American interests. That is the only way to conduct a smart foreign policy,” the US Vice President concluded.

At that time, Vance emphasized that President Trump was the only state leader in the world sympathetic to Israel. He recalled that America had allocated billions of dollars in defense aid to this country.

“My message to them is twofold. First: Donald Trump is currently the only state leader in the entire world who is sympathetic to the Israeli people. If I were in the Israeli government cabinet, I would not attack the only powerful ally I have left in the entire world,” Vance said, addressing Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

However, the Israeli Prime Minister responded by emphasizing that the US is the greatest friend, but there are also other partner countries.

“I respect JD Vance, we have a very good relationship, but that does not mean I agree with everything he says. I must emphasize that Donald Trump is my greatest friend in the White House.
