WBC ranking updated: Uzbek boxers’ rankings revealed
The World Boxing Council (WBC) has announced the updated ranking of professional boxers for the month of August. A total of 11 Uzbek boxers have been ranked in different weight categories.
In the first light lightweight category (-55.2 kg), in the division where Japanese Naoya Inoue is the absolute champion, Murodjon Akhmadaliyev took third place. In the same weight category, another Uzbek boxer, Muhammad Shekhov, rose from 12th to 11th place. In the lightweight category (-61.2 kg), Sirojbek Ismoilov, who is undefeated in the professional ring (11 fights, 11 wins, 8 knockouts), was recorded in 16th place.
In the first welterweight category (-63.5 kg), three boxers have moved up the rankings: Mujibillo Tursunov is in 27th place, Shohjahon Ergashev is in 31st place, and Ruslan Abdullayev is in 34th place. In the super welterweight category (-69.9 kg), Isroil Madrimov is in 8th place.
In the super middleweight category (-76.2 kg), Bektemir Melikoziyev, who defeated Ghanaian Sena Agbekoni in his last fight and defended his WBA intercontinental belt, this time dropped one place to 6th place.
In the super heavyweight category (+101.6 kg), Bakhodir Jalolov is in 13th place. He has fought 18 fights in professional boxing, winning all of them by knockout. He knocked out Croatian Agron Smakici in his last fight in Manchester. Lazizbek Mullajonov rose to 24th place.
